A follow-up investigation revealed that the suspect's vehicle was captured on CCTV, and footage was immediately disseminated by the Antipolo Police to aid in the identification of the driver.

Within 24 hours of the incident, the Antipolo City Police received information that someone was searching for a side mirror matching the color and a specific brand of vehicle in a social media group for selling car parts.

The individual who posted about the side mirror was identified as the owner of a car repair shop, which the driver involved in the hit-and-run had visited.

Information provided by the driver at the repair shop led to the police identifying him as the suspect.

“Ang kagandahan para itong Cinderella, dala ng mga investigator natin ‘yung nawawalang side mirror at it perfectly fit doon sa sasakyan na suspected po natin,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo, chief of the Antipolo City Police.
