"According po doon sa isang nasusundan nila... vehicle 1 nag-overtake sa kanya, and then approximately 200 meters, doon nagbanggaan 'yung dalawa. Head-on collision po," said PMAJ Florante Yu, Chief of Police of Morong Municipal Police Station.
"Galing lang po ito sa... gumagawa sila ng thesis. And then 'yung vehicle 2 naman, dalawa din po ang sakay. 'yung isa po, 'yung driver doon ang nabuhay. 'Yung backrider po niya ang namatay," PMAJ Yu added.
The rider who survived the tragic incident was rushed to the hospital and is now recovering.
In the Philippines, liability in a motorcycle accident is determined by traffic laws, police investigation, and available evidence, with fault assigned to the rider who violated traffic rules. If both riders were negligent, they may share responsibility and face fines or compensation claims, while reckless or intoxicated riders could face criminal charges. Insurance may cover damages, but the final decision depends on the investigation and legal proceedings.
