An 11-year-old boy in Dumangas, Iloilo, was allegedly the target of a kidnapping attempt by three men on motorcycles.

The boy, identified as “Toto,” recounted that he was walking home from school on Monday, February 17, when two motorcycles carrying three men suddenly stopped near him.

The men allegedly tried to grab him, but he managed to resist.

Fearing for his safety, Toto ran towards a nearby rice field as the men gave chase.

However, they stopped when they saw people in the direction he was running.

This allowed the boy to escape unharmed.

Following the incident, Toto’s father took immediate precautions by personally taking him to and from school to ensure his safety.

Concerned about the attempted abduction, the family reported the incident to the Dumangas Police.

Authorities have since begun investigating the case, but there are currently no witnesses to confirm the boy’s claims.

To help him cope with any emotional distress caused by the event, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office has scheduled intervention for the child.

Meanwhile, authorities are urging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to prevent similar incidents.

Local police continue to investigate the matter and are reminding parents to be vigilant, especially when their children are commuting alone.

They also encourage the community to work together in keeping the area safe and secure.

Now, barangay tanods are patrolling the area especially during the time that students are going home or are on their way to school.

Still in other news, a 16-year-old female was found dead and was suspected to have been molested by three suspects. The girl left her home without even saying goodbye at around 11 pm. She then allegedly had a drinking spree with three men. Investigation showed that she allegedly agreed to do it with one of the suspects, but refused when another man also wanted the same.
