A jeep carrying student passengers overturned in Balbalan, Kalinga.

Around 20 students were rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries.

Police authorities stated that the jeep was transporting the students for a practice session for an upcoming drum and lyre competition.

According to a report by One North Central Luzon from GMA 7's GMA Regional TV, the jeep allegedly lost its brakes.

The alleged machine malfunction happened while the jeep was running on the curved road of Barangay Balantoy, Balbalan, Kalinga.

The jeepney driver reportedly avoided the cliff on the right and power-stirred to the left, prompting it to flip over the road.
