A 30-year-old man died after being stabbed with an ice pick by a neighbor allegedly due to bullying in Taytay, Rizal, on Tuesday afternoon, ABS-CBN reported.

During the PNP investigation, the 23-year-old suspect and the victim, who live in the same compound in Barangay Dolores, allegedly had a long-standing dispute. The suspect invited the victim to his house to talk but it allegedly ended in a stabbing.

“Dahil sa pambu-bully allegedly ng biktima ay that day the suspect invited the victim na pag-usapan nila 'yung kanilang alitan but unexpectedly ay bumunot siya ng icepick, pinagtataga niya itong victim,” said Rizal police chief Col Felipe Maraggun.
“After the incident, tumakas itong suspek. Dinala naman ng relatives ng victim sa ospital ang biktima but unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival,” he added.

The suspect was arrested at his residence in Taytay, Rizal after a follow-up operation by the police. The ice pick and another knife were recovered from him.

The 23-year-old man justified the stabbing in self-defense after he and the victim had an argument.

"Parang self-defense lang po 'yung ginawa ko. Nakapatong lang po sa may cabinet po 'yung ice pick. Kaya naglagay po ako ng ganun sa kwarto, lagi po kasi siyang may baon na ganon pang-saksak niya. Naglagay din po ako sa kwarto ko para po kung sakali," said the suspect.

This prompted several police personnel to pursue the tricycle but instead of complying, it maneuvered recklessly, injuring a policeman in the process.

Still in other news, a family of three almost met a tragic end when the motorcycle they’re riding in fell down when a dog crossed its path. GMA Regional News shared a CCTV footage from an establishment nearby captured the incident. In the footage, one can see the motorcycle carrying the rider, a woman and a child traversing the designated motorcycle lane. All of a sudden, a dog crossed their path, sending all three of them tumbling down with one narrowly missed by the tires of a passing SUV.
