Motorists were horrified when they witnessed a brutal stabbing incident involving a habal-habal driver in Barangay Kinasang-an Pardo, Cebu City, early Saturday morning.

The incident was reported by Alan Domingo of GMA Regional TV during "24 Oras Weekend" on Sunday.

Footage captured by a bystander showed the suspect pinning the victim to the ground in the middle of the road while repeatedly swinging a knife.

The disturbing scene left witnesses in shock as they watched the altercation unfold.

According to the police investigation, the 33-year-old victim was waiting for a passenger when the suspect suddenly approached and took a picture of him using his cellphone.

This unexpected action angered the victim, leading to an argument between the two.

Unfortunately, the confrontation escalated into violence when the suspect stabbed the driver.

The victim sustained a stab wound to the stomach and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals are currently monitoring her condition.

Authorities assured the public that the victim is receiving the necessary care and is under observation.

Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene. Police are now conducting an extensive search and investigation to determine the suspect's identity and whereabouts.

Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice.

The stabbing has raised concerns among residents about safety in public areas and highlighted the need for vigilance.
