A lady pilot died after the chopper she’s flying crashed in a sitio in the municipality of Guimba in Nueva Ecija.
In a video shared by News5Everywhere, one can see the chopper completely submerged in a deep backwater or stream in the said sitio with only its tail and main rotor showing above the water.
According to police authorities, the chopper, which had the body number RPC3424, crashed around 5PM Saturday, February 1, in Sitio Arimung-mong, Barangay San Miguel, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
The lone fatality, a lady pilot, has been identified as Julia Flori Monzon Po, a resident of C-305 Marina Bay Homes, Asia World, Parañaque .

In an interview with News5Everywhere’s Frontline Pilipinas Weekend, P/Lt. Col. George Calauad Jr, the Chief of Guimba Police Office, narrated what one of his officers told him.
“Ayon po kay kapitan, may nakarinig daw po na may helicopter, tapos bigla daw po nawalan ng tunog, tapos narinig na lang po daw nila na parang may sumabog pa nga po yung unang sinabi nila pero sa tingin ko po impact po yung narinig nila,” P/Lt. Col. Calauad said.
In what appeared to be a twist to the tragic incident, it was later confirmed that Sen. Bato Dela Rosa was a passenger of the chopper on the day of the crash.
Sen. Bato himself confirmed that Po flew him to Baguio and after he disembarked, the lady pilot went ahead to go back to Manila.
According to reports, Po made a stopover in Pangasinan to refuel and then later flew for Manila.
The chopper was en route to Manila when it crashed.

It can be recalled that the PNP officer is one of those who were confirmed to have perished in the fatal mid-air collision of a military chopper and passenger plane over Washington DC. In her video post, Rio also wrote a heart-wrenching caption that could explain what she might be feeling right now.
It can be recalled that Col. Malabed’s video showing him bidding his wife and daughter goodbye went viral. The video was posted by the wife of the police colonel last January 22 and was taken at the time he flew to the United States for an official trip. It can be recalled that P/Col Malabed was among the casualties in the fatal mid-air collision of a military chopper and a passenger jet over the skies of Washington DC. In the video, one can see the little daughter of the police colonel crying hard and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt as if trying to stop him from flying to the US.
