Several customers in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental fell victim to an alleged lechon package scam.
Based on the report of GMA News, one of the alleged victims, Leezahnette Tahum, joined the “paluwagan” in November 2024.
The “paluwagan” offers its “investors” lechon packages called "Pak Meals" instead of money.
Leezahnette initially invested P5,000 for one slot and later on bought more slots, which resulted in a total investment of P240,000.

Later, she sold the other slots for P6,500.
Initially, the packages were delivered by Socorro Marie Delrio Marual, the owner of the paluwagan.
However, during the Sinulog Festival in Kabankalan, there were about 16 lechon packages that were allegedly not delivered.
Socorro denied being a scammer and said that she was not able to deliver them because her child got sick.
She also promised to pay the victims.
