- A woman named Ruth from Maramag, Bukidnon is now unconscious in the hospital after a jackfruit accidentally fell on her

- In a story featured in 'Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho,' the woman's spinal cord was affected by the impact of the fallen fruit

- According to the daughter of the accident, January 03, she and her mother were doing the laundry when her mother decided to check if their washing machine had already stopped its spinning cycle

- On her way, just meters away from the water pump, the jackfruit accidentally landed on her nape

The accident fractured and dislocated a part of Ruth's spinal cord.

Believing the jackfruit that fell on Ruth would bring forth a curse to their community, they decided to burn it and cut the tree itself.

Meanwhile, the man who owns the land where the jackfruit tree was planted is thankful because the family doesn't hold any grudge against him.

Based on the KMJS story, Ruth can neither move her body nor talk. Her family is in dire need of financial help since her operation would most likely cost nearly half a million pesos.

On the other hand, the local government promised to help Ruth's family to the best of their ability.
