The accident fractured and dislocated a part of Ruth's spinal cord.

Believing the jackfruit that fell on Ruth would bring forth a curse to their community, they decided to burn it and cut the tree itself.

Meanwhile, the man who owns the land where the jackfruit tree was planted is thankful because the family doesn't hold any grudge against him.

Based on the KMJS story, Ruth can neither move her body nor talk. Her family is in dire need of financial help since her operation would most likely cost nearly half a million pesos.
