PDL na 5 buwan na palang patay, hindi raw umano ipinaalam sa kanyang pamilya

- 2 months later, his son paid him a visit and noticed his father was looking weak

- On his 2nd visit on December 07, 2024, that's when the bad news was delivered to them; their PDL father was dead

In an interview with Mark Salazar of '24 Oras.' according to the son of Calugay, who refused to be named and shown on TV, they asked where's the body of their father.

As it turned out, their father had already died on July 16, 2024, from pneumonia and was buried in the Japanese Cemetery inside the Bilibid, where unclaimed cadavers of PDLs are being put.

Their only question was why they weren't informed about the death of their father. They were told a snail mail was sent to them, but on records, the postman wasn't able to send it because their area was flooded.

They were also told they didn't have the family's contact number but the letter itself had the mobile number of one of Calugay's children.

Meanwhile, Bureau of Correction Director General Gregorio Catapang promised that he would have the case checked.

In an interview with 24-Oras, one of the suspects admitted the victim was strangled and had a cellophane wrapped around his face. Afterwards, the killed businessman was put inside a water drum, and buried in San Jose Del Monte. It's the same kidnap-slay crime committed against Ruby Rose Barrameda in 2007 and as it turned out, the alleged mastermind behind the two crimes was believed to be the same person.
