- CCTV footage showed the victim carrying a garbage bag after he was found bloodied and lifeless on the ground

- According to the investigation, the man was hit on his head with a metal pipe by a 50-year-old male garbage collector

- The suspect was the victim's neighbor, and the two reportedly had a prior argument before the incident happened

According to police authorities, the suspect saw the victim throwing a dead cat on the pile of garbage that he was supposed to collect. It led to a confrontation but the victim just ignored the suspect.

The suspect then retaliated by leaving garbage in front of the victim's house. That, according to police, prompted the suspect to commit the crime.

However, the suspect denied the accusations and said he's being pointed as the suspect only because he was the last person whom the victim had an argument with.

As it turned out, the suspect was previously imprisoned for illegal drugs and violation of Republic Act No. 7610, also known as the "Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act," after taking advantage of his niece.

In another viral local report, a businessman kidnapped in Quezon City was found dead in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. In an interview with 24-Oras, one of the suspects admitted the victim was strangled and had a cellophane wrapped around his face. Afterwards, the killed businessman was put inside a water drum, and buried in San Jose Del Monte. It's the same kidnap-slay crime committed against Ruby Rose Barrameda in 2007 and as it turned out, the alleged mastermind behind the two crimes was believed to be the same person.
