- A 24-year-old man was found dead in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao Del Sur, morning of January 13

- The lifeless body was lying on a cornfield; he sustained a gunshot in the face, and his personal belongings also turned out to be missing

- The victim, identified as Jay R Palabrica from Koronadal City, was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead on arrival

- According to police, the victim allegedly had a certain "transaction" according to his companion

In a report by 'Frontline Pilipinas,' illegal drugs were the suspected reason for the crime, particularly because the victim was on Koronadal City's drug watch list.

They also suspect that 2 individuals did the crime.

Additionally, the victim also lost his motorcycle, wallet, and mobile phone after the crime was committed.

In another viral local report, a businessman kidnapped in Quezon City was found dead in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. In an interview with 24-Oras, one of the suspects admitted the victim was strangled and had a cellophane wrapped around his face. Afterwards, the killed businessman was put inside a water drum, and buried in San Jose Del Monte. It's the same kidnap-slay crime committed against Ruby Rose Barrameda in 2007 and as it turned out, the alleged mastermind behind the two crimes was believed to be the same person.
