More than 100 miners in South Africa lost their lives due to severe hunger and thirst.
According to a report by *Frontline Pilipinas,* the miners had been trapped inside a mine for almost two months.
CCTV footage revealed a pile of bodies wrapped in plastic inside a mining site in Stilfontein, South Africa.
While 26 miners were rescued, over 500 others remain trapped underground.

Reports say that in November 2024, an operation against mining was conducted. It so happened the miners were illegally mining and hid there because of fear from being arrested.
Rescue operation for the remaining trapped miners is still ongoing.

It's the same kidnap-slay crime committed against Ruby Rose Barrameda in 2007 and as it turned out, the alleged mastermind behind the two crimes was believed to be the same person.
