An 84-year-old bedridden woman was raped and killed by a man in Floridablanca, Pampanga.

Reports said the elderly woman had suffered a stroke, and the suspect used to work at their hardware store.

The 26-year-old suspect was allegedly drunk and under the influence of illegal drugs at the time.

According to the authorities' investigation, the suspect's original intent was to steal.

However, in an interview with TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the suspect heard someone screaming "magnanakaw," that's why he got rattled and panicked. He also said he didn't know that it was the elderly woman to whom he committed the crime.

He reportedly raped the 84-year-old woman, stabbed her twice in the chest, and strangled her to death.

It so happened that other people residing in the house woke up that's why the suspect was easily apprehended.

They recovered 2 stolen mobile phones and a wallet from the suspect, who will be charged with rape and robbery with homicide.
