A 72-year-old man from Davao City passed away after the tricycle he was riding lost control in an accident-prone area.

CCTV footage showed the tricycle speeding and almost crossing into the other lane.

Suddenly, a dog ran across the road and was hit by the tricycle, causing it to lose control and flip over several times.

The elderly passenger was thrown out of the vehicle and hit the ground.

Residents in the area even tried to help the victim, but he eventually died because of the damage taken by his head upon hitting the ground.

The dog also died.

Meanwhile, the driver of the tricycle and another passenger were safe after the accident.

The suspect is already in custody of Davao City's Traffic Enforcement Unit and would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
