Punong-barangay Concial said that the ten year old kid then allegedly brought the unexploded illegal firecracker home but for some reason, it exploded in his presence.

“May lalaki na nagpaputok mula sa Bulacao, Cruzan, tatlong firecraker ang pumutok yung isa hindi pumutok. Yung isang hindi pumutok, dinala ng mga bata sa kanila. Sa kung anong kadahilan parang pinukpok o ano, sumabog,” Concial said in an interview.

The explosion allegedly caused small stones to fly in all directions, with one hitting the ten-year-old kid in the chest, which then punctured his heart and allegedly caused his death.

The barangay chairperson said they are already coordinating with Talisay City police authorities to establish the identity of the unidentified male person who brought and lighted the illegal firecracker in the vacant lot.
