A recent ruling of the Supreme Court revealed that teachers who get pregnant while teaching cannot be suspended because doing so shall be deemed illegal.
According to the ruling penned by Associate Justice Ricardo Rosario of the SC's First Division, s3xual relations between two single and unmarried consenting adults are not immoral.
It also stated that there is no law prohibiting the act nor does it run contrary to any public policy.
The case stemmed from Bohol Wisdom School, where a teacher got pregnant but was suspended.

Later, the court ruled in her favor and ordered the school to pay her backwages and benefits during her suspension.
