According to the report of OnePH, the candy got stuck in the lungs of the little boy.
Based on the narration of the mother, the kid went with his father to buy at the store, and chose the mata-mata.
After opening it, the father turned his back and paid the seller.
When he looked back, he found his son restless.
It only took two minutes before the little boy passed out.
When they brought him to the hospital in Cabanatuan, they also lacked whatever was needed to remove the gummy candy that got stuck in his lungs.
The little boy died the following day.
