A 17-year-old boy in Antipolo City died instantly after being attacked with a machete by his brother-in-law.
Police reported that both the suspect and the victim were workmates who had just attended a Christmas party.
The two were under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened, which started with playful teasing.
The teasing continued at their home, where the victim reportedly joked about chopping the suspect with a machete.

The suspect, on the other hand, thought about the joke the other way. So, he decided to do it first instead of him being the victim.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, the uncle of the victim said the suspect did the crime while the victim was busy on his phone.
Authorities also said the relatives of the suspect surrendered him to the barangay. The machete used to commit the crime was recovered in a grassy near the area.
Meanwhile, the suspect said he didn't start it and was only trying to defend himself.
