Armed with a search warrant, the NBI Dangerous Drugs Division confiscated boxes of counterfeit seasoning granules.
According to the NBI, these fake seasonings were manufactured in China and smuggled into the Philippines disguised as boxes of imported clothing.
Once in the country, the counterfeit products were distributed to small retail stores.
Atty. Ross Jonathan Galicia, Chief of NBI-DDD, stated that the seasonings tested positive for Salmonella, making them unsafe for human consumption.

Arrested during the operation is a Chinese national who reportedly owns the illegal products seized in the warehouse in Pandi, Bulacan.
Meanwhile, the towers of boxed faked seasonings were confiscated by NBI-DDD.
