In a previous report by KAMI, the Land Transportation Office confirmed that the viral SUV with plate number "7" was bearing a fake plate number. According to LTO, they had never issued a protocol plate for a senator for the said vehicle. It can be recalled that the SUV entered the EDSA busway and fled after being flagged down by a traffic enforcer. Meanwhile, Senate President Chiz Escudero wanted the owner of the SUV to take full responsibility for the incident because it not only violated a traffic law but also tarnished the image of the Senate.
Also, just recently, the Luxury car bearing a fake "7" number plate turned out to be registered under a company that's allegedly owned by Senator Win Gatchalian's brother. According to the Land Transportation Office, the vehicle was registered under Orient Pacific Corp. which is allegedly owned by Kenneth Gatchalian. The information was confirmed by a report of GMA Integrated News; the details were from a copy of the company's information sheet, which they received from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It can be recalled that the alleged driver of the SUV during the incident claimed to have had an upset stomach, that's why he tried using the EDSA busway.
