Severe Tropical Storm Trami, called Kristine in the Philippines, recently moved through the South China Sea after hitting the Philippines in October 2024. In a previous report by KAMI, A coffin of an elderly woman from Naga, Camarines Sur, was temporarily raised to avoid being submerged in floodwaters - The 75-year-old woman, Elizabeth Abante, passed away from heart disease on October 21, 2024 - According to the granddauther of the elderly woman, Danice Audrey Abante, she said that the flood level inside their house went up to neck level. “Wala na ibang choice, la. Sana naiintindihan mo,” Danice said.

Additionally, a heartbreaking video captured residents in Albay pleading for help due to the uncontrollable rise in floodwaters caused by Typhoon Kristine’s onslaught. Albay, located in the Bicol region, is one of the areas hardest hit by Kristine. The region continues to call for any kind of assistance as many areas remain submerged in floodwaters above head level.
