A taxi driver died after he was shot by a person he had an altercation with at a drive-thru facility of a fast-food restaurant in Pasay City.

The incident was caught on CCTV, with part of the footage shared by GMA News.

In the video shared by GMA News, one can see the taxi behind a van in the vehicle queue of the fast-food restaurant.

A dark-colored car can also be seen trying to insert itself in the queue, but the taxi driver didn’t allow it.

It was at this point that the passenger of the dark-colored car alighted and appeared to confront the taxi driver.

The taxi driver, for his part also got out of the vehicle and pushed the man confronting him.

In a little while, the CCTV footage showed the two of them engaged in a fistfight, with the fast-food restaurant’s security guards trying to pacify them.

According to authorities, the two cars went on their separate ways after that but a few moments later, the taxi driver can be seen running towards the same dark-colored car, this time parked in front of a hotel near the fast-food restaurant.

In the CCTV footage, one can see the passenger of the car go out and shoot the taxi driver, who immediately fell to the ground.

In an interview with authorities, it was learned that the taxi driver was shot multiple times by the suspect.

“Nilapitan niya. Talagang nilapitan. Kasi meron ding dalang patalim yung taxi driver, ayun, binaril siya nung ano, nung ating suspek. Ang na-recover natin dun sa crime scene apat na empty shells ng 45, pero yung tama nung ano, tatlo yung tama ng ating biktima, isa sa ulo, isa sa leeg, at saka meron dito sa bandang hita,” Pasay City Police Station chief Col. Samuel Pabonita, said.

Col. Pabonita also said they were able to locate the car based on its plate number but it turned out to be a different car and might be another case for “doble plaka.”

“Ang lumalabas dito baka, baka lang, may kakambal itong ano, may gumawa ng plate number na magkapareho ang plate, pero titingnan pa natin,” Col. Pabonita said.

Investigation is ongoing, with police investigators in the process of establishing the identity of the suspect.

Meanwhile, in a comment on a video post, the Bacoor PNP promised to investigate the police personnel involved in a traffic altercation with an individual. In its comment, the Bacoor PNP asked for the whereabouts of the complainant involved in the said altercation and who took a video of the same to aid them in their investigation of the erring police personnel involved. The Bacoor PNP also thanked the netizen for posting the video and making them aware of the situation. It also urged the complainant to send them a message so they could proceed with a formal investigation.
