The family of Mae Fatima Tagactac, the Grade 12 student who was found dead, bound and gagged at a lodging house in Toledo City, Cebu has spoken.

On Sunstar's report, the brother of the victim, Jelvin, narrated how Mae told her younger siblings that she was going with classmates for a dance practice and that she has already informed their mother.

He then revealed that they already had an idea that she wanted to meetup with her boyfriend, who was a seaman.

Jelvin also said that if they knew they were going to meet with the man on that day, they would have prevented her from leaving.

When she did not return home that evening, they became worried and reached out to her classmates.

It was only then that they found out that the practice did not push through.

The family then posted on Facebook, seeking her whereabouts.

Based on an interview with the mother of the victim by Brigada, she said that the victim told her that she will be meeting with a seaman, and the mother even told her not to push through with her plan especially that the seaman has not sent a picture.
