A 24-year-old man was caught by barangay officers in the act of assaulting a 52-year-old female PWD, who was bedridden and could not talk.
In a report in Unang Balita of GMA, a neighbor called for help after he or she saw the suspect breaking into the home of the victim four times.
“Noong nakapasok na iyong suspek sa bahay, tumakbo na siya at tumawag ng barangay tanod (When the suspect got in the house, the neighbor ran to call for help from the village officers),” Police Captain Joan De Leon, Valenzuela City Police chief public information officer said.
“Noong kanila ngang buksan ang pinto ay doon nga nila naaktuhan na itong suspek, nakapatong pa mismo doon sa biktima. Wala siyang saplot, ganoon din iyong biktima," she added.
