Unang biktima ng mpox sa Pinas, nagpunta sa derma at illegal spa

- The first Mpox patient was revealed to have visited a dermatology clinic in Quezon City

- Following this visit, the patient went to an illegal spa in the same city, which had no permits

- Mayor Joy Belmonte revealed that 28 out of the 41 contacts have been placed in self-quarantine

- Likewise, the Quezon City Health Department are also monitoring those under the quarantine as well

The first patient for Mpox was revealed to have visited a dermatology clinic for a check-up in Quezon City before going to an illegal spa in the same city.

In the report done by GMA News, Mayor Joy Belmonte revealed that 28 out of 41 contacts of the new Mpox case that was identified were placed in self-quarantine.

Belmonte, in a press con, added that the people who have been placed in self-quarantine are also being monitored by the Quezon City Health Department as well.

Among those that were quarantined was the masseuse, and some other clients of the illegal spa in Quezon City, where the Mpox case had a séxual encounter.

In a report done by ABS-CBN News, Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said the first mpox case in the Philippines is a mild variant and not the deadly strain.

With the recent case, PhilStar reported that Herbosa has ordered the ramping up of testing centers.
