PBBM, iniutos masusing imbestigasyon sa pag-alis ni Guo sa bansa: “Heads will roll”

- President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., has ordered a full-scale investigation into the flight of former Mayor Alice Guo out of the country

- It can be recalled that Senator Risa Hontiveros, in a recent privilege speech at the Senate, revealed that the former official has left the country last July 17

- Several hours later, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed the information that Guo is indeed out of the country

- Underscoring the fact that the flight of Guo bared “the corruption that undermines” the justice system, PBBM ordered a full-scale investigation and promised that “heads will roll”

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., has ordered a full and in-depth investigation into the flight out of the country of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.

It can be recalled that on Monday afternoon, August 19, Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed in a privilege speech at the Senate that the former Bamban official has left the Philippines last July 17.

“I am now in receipt of information that in fact this person was already out of the country on July 18, 2024 to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ipapakita ko po ang dokumentong ito, bilang patunay na pumasok sa Malaysia si Alice Guo,” Sen. Risa said during her privilege speech.

The Department of Justice, at the outset, said it didn’t have the information about the alleged departure of Guo, though hours later, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed the information held by Sen. Risa.

In a statement, PBBM said the flight of Guo bared “the corruption that undermines” the justice system.

He then ordered a full scale investigation and at the same time, promised that heads will roll.

“The departure of Alice Guo has laid bare the corruption that undermines our justice system and erodes public trust. Let me be clear, heads will roll,” PBBM said in a statement released by the Palace today.

“We will expose the culprits who have betrayed the people's trust and aided in her flight. A full-scale investigation is already underway, and those responsible will be suspended and will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” the statement further read.

PBBM then said that there is no room in his government for those who place their personal interest over and above that of the Filipino people.

“There is no room in this government for anyone who places personal interest above serving the Filipino people with honor, integrity, and justice,” PBBM’s statement said.

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr., also more popularly known as BBM or PBBM, is the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He also served as Governor of Ilocos Norte in 1983, holding that office until the ouster of his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. In 1998, he was elected again as Governor of Ilocos Norte and served for three terms and later ran and won a seat in the Philippine Senate during the 2010 elections. He served as Philippine Senator until 2016. He ran for Vice-President during the 2016 elections but was unsuccessful and in 2022, he ran for president and won with a landslide victory.

During his last State of the Nation address, President Bongbong Marcos, in what many perceive as a bold and popular move, has declared a total ban on all POGO operations. The president also ordered the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation or PAGCOR to wind down and cease the operations of POGOs by the end of the year. It can be recalled dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is also allegedly linked to POGO operations in her area.

Meanwhile, the alleged video of PBBM seemingly snorting a powdered substance was proven to be fake. Forensics experts presented evidence showing that the video is a hoax. It can be recalled that the organization called Hakbang ng Maisug showed the video on the day of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of PBBM. The video, which has since then gone viral, was earlier debunked by government officials, and later by forensics experts.
