Bureau of Immigration, kinumpirmang nasa Indonesia na si Alice Guo

- The Bureau of Immigration has confirmed that Alice Guo is now in Indonesia

- According to GMA's report, the dismissed Bamban mayor arrived in the said country almost a month after her alleged departure form the Philippines

- The spokesperson of BI, Dana Sandoval, mentioned that Guo allegedly traveled to Malaysia on July 16, and thereafter arrived in Indonesia from Singapore on August 18

- The BI is also backtracking on the dismissed mayor's movements

The Bureau of Immigration has just confirmed a previous statement of Sen. Risa Hontiveros that dismissed Bamban mayor Alice Guo is already out of the Philippines.

It stated in GMA's report that Guo is in Indonesia.

According to the report, and as enunciated by the spokesperson of the agency, Dana Sandoval, Guo allegedly left PH on August 16.

She then allegedly arrived initially in Malaysia, and that from Singapore, she traveled to Indonesia on August 18.

"Sa atin pong pagbantay sa mga counterpart intelligence information, nalaman natin nasa Indonesia ngayon. Tumawid siya from Singapore the other day, August 18," she told dzBB.

They are also backtracking on the movements of the dismissed mayor.

"Nagba-backtrack tayo sa dinaanan ni Mayor Guo kung paano siya nakalabas ng bansa. From there, malalaman natin kung sino ang mga individuals responsible in that area," she said.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla warned the BI, to hand over anyone who may have been involved with the "escape" of Guo from the country.

"As civil servants, we have sworn to the country our unwavering integrity, transparency and accountability in all our actions and decisions,” he said.

“Hence, I am issuing this final warning against erring BI personnel who may have had a participation in the escape of Guo despite strict restrictions imposed by our government, it’s either you come out and unveil the truth or wait until I personally get to the bottom of this where heads will roll and all hell will break loose," Reumlla added.

Alice Leal Guo is the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations or (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then.

Earlier, Mayor Guo released an official statement following an order for her arrest by the senate. The suspended Bamban mayor cited "severe exhaustion" and "trauma" as the reasons why she has not attended the two senate hearings. She also addressed Senators Win Gatchalian and Risa Hontiveros in her statement, even asking if she was the country's biggest problem. She also assured the senator that she does not pose as a threat against him.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration has released a statement regarding suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo. The Bureau’s statement came about after reports surfaced about the embattled local chief executive going out of the country using her Chinese passport. It can be recalled that Mayor Guo came under intense scrutiny after a senate committee investigating the proliferation of POGO hubs presented evidence that put the identity of the local chief executive in question. She was subsequently slapped with a six-month preventive suspension without pay after the DILG filed a complaint against her for serious dishonesty, grave misconduct, and gross neglect of duty.
