A motorcycle passenger died after a bus hit the vehicle on the EDSA busway near North Avenue Station, Quezon City.

The rider, a habal-habal driver, attempted an illegal U-turn by entering the bus lane.

The impact caused the passenger to fall and get run over by the bus, resulting in his immediate death.

Moreover, the bus driver stated that the motorcycle suddenly appeared in front of him.

Emergency responders had to lift the bus slightly to retrieve the victim's body. The rider sustained minor injuries and expressed deep regret over the incident.

Both the bus driver and the motorcycle rider are now detained and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Moreover, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large. The conflict reportedly started over a fallen mango tree.

It was also reported about Renz Llorente, a fresh graduate, drowned in Malogo River while celebrating his graduation. He was swimming with friends when the strong current, caused by heavy rain, led to the accident. The incident happened in Barangay Nanca, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental. Llorente had just graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration two days before the tragedy.
