The Philippines has never won a medal in any gymnastics event since the country joined the international competition in 1924, thus making Carlos the first Filipino to win a medal in an Olympic gymnastics event.
He is also the first Filipino to win in two Olympic gymnastics event, with each even earning him an Olympic gold medal.
Carlos is the first Filipino to win two Olympic gold medals in a single Olympic year.
According the report, the parade is set to begin at three in the afternoon and will start from the Aliw Theater in Pasay City and culminate at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, where many Olympians, including Carlos, trained before.

He won two gold medals in gymnastics' men's floor exercise and men's vault in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Last night, Tuesday, August 14, Carlos delivered an impromptu speech during the Heroes’ Welcome dinner at the Malacañang Palace. In his speech, Carlos expressed his gratitude to all who supported them in their Olympic journey. Addressing the athletes, he said he knew all of them gave their very best but at the same time, reminded them they need to give more in the coming competitions.
It can be recalled that the Pinoy Olympian, along with the rest of the Philippine Olympic Team were given a Heroes’ Welcome Ceremony at the Malacañang Palace. After arriving at the Villamor Airbase around 7:20PM onboard a Philippine Airlines chartered flight where they had a brief respite, they were immediately brought to Malacañang. The President and the First Lady, along with their two sons, were on hand to welcome the Pinoy Olympians to the palace. The 2024 Paris Olympics is considered one of the most successful Olympic campaigns of the Philippines where the country was able to get two gold medals, courtesy of Carlos, and two bronze medals, courtesy of Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio.
