Bongbong Marcos, sumakay sa truck, naglibot, para personal na makita epekto ng Carina at Habagat

- Pres. Bongbong Marcos rode at the back of a truck and personally visited the areas that were hard hit by Typhoon Carina

- The president, along with his cabinet members, were all standing at the back of a military truck

- Based on the report of GMA, they were roaming Valenzuela and thereafter, PBBM would be visiting an evacuation center

- Carina has caused massive damage to many parts of Metro Manila

Pres. Bongbong Marcos, together with members of his cabinet, rode on the back of a truck to be able to personally see and checkout areas that were damaged and hard hit by typhoon Carina and Habagat.

In a video shared by GMA News, one could see the president's group at the back of a military truck.

The GMA News reporter, along with other members of the media, said that they were at the McArthur Highway, Valenzuela City.

"Nais ng pangulo na ma-inspeksyon ang mga naging epekto ng Bagyong Carina at ng Habagat... Bukod sa pag-iikot sa Valenzuela ay papasyal din ang pangulo sa evacuation center..." he reported.

The president was also meeting with DRRMOs yesterday when Carina lashed out at the metro.

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr., also more popularly known as BBM or PBBM, is the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He also served as Governor of Ilocos Norte in 1983, holding that office until the ouster of his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. In 1998, he was elected again as Governor of Ilocos Norte and served for three terms and later ran and won a seat in the Philippine Senate during the 2010 elections. He served as Philippine Senator until 2016. He ran for Vice-President during the 2016 elections but was unsuccessful and in 2022, he ran for president and won with a landslide victory.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte has declared several days ago that she will not attend the third SONA of President Bongbong Marcos on July 22. She shared her decision in an ambush interview during the inauguration of the Child and Adolescent Neurodevelopmental Center Inauguration in Davao City on Thursday. The Vice President also named herself the "designated survivor." This will be the first time that Duterte will skip PBBM's SONA since their tandem won the 2022 election.

In a separate interview much earlier, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was asked about Bimby and Josh Aquino paying a visit to First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. It can be recalled that on July 9, the sons of Kris Aquino dropped by the First Lady's office and gave her "pasalubong." The President then told the media that the reason why the two Aquinos visited his wife was to personally thank her for her "help in their travel arrangements." The head of the country also underscored that his wife is related to the Aquinos.
