- A 20-year-old male who was promised 200K payment for one of his kidneys received only 2K after the organ was removed and sold to a waiting recipient

- The young man was among those rescued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in an operation that uncovered a massive clandestine business of illegal organ trading

- According to a report in a video shared by 24Oras, the 20-year-old victim is supposed to use part of the 200K payment for his enrollment in the coming semester

- The NBI also claimed in the ensuing news conference, that the alleged ringleader of the said operation was a head nurse with the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI)

A 20-year-old male who was promised 200K as payment for one of his kidneys to be removed and transplanted to a waiting recipient received only 2K.

In an interview with members of the press, the unidentified 20-year-old male victim he was told it’s okay if a person has only one kidney.

“Magkano ang ipinangako sa inyo?” a member of the press, in a video shared by 24Oras, asked.
“200 po,” the 20-year-old victim said.

“200 thousand?” the press member further asked.
“Sa kagipitan lang po. Sabi po kasi nila okay lang po pag isa lang po yung isang kidney,” the victim confirmed.

Accorind to the report, the young man is supposed to use some of the 200K payment for his enrollment this semester.

The young man was among those who were rescued by the NBI in an operation that uncovered a massive underground business of illegal organ trading.

According to authorities, the alleged ringleader of the syndicated group was a head nurse with the NKTI.

The NBI has identified the supposed leader of the syndicate as Allan Ligaya, who remains at large.

Authorities also revealed they have now on their radar the names of three doctors who were also allegedly part of the clandestine operation.

The NBI, however, did not say whether the supposed three doctors were also with NKTI or not.

In another viral post, this time in a video shared by the Committee On Public Order And Safety of the Philippine Congress, the two policemen, who were among the resource persons in the investigation concerning an alleged buy bust operation, admitted to wrongdoing after questioning by legislators. It can be recalled that the congressional committee conducted an investigation in aid of legislation after complaints were lodged against alleged wrongdoings by certain police personnel.
