Korean professional football player Yi Young Park allegedly got pickpocketed at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
On his Instagram page, the athlete shared a lengthy post where he narrated the alleged pickpocket incident.
"It happened in front of One Bonifacio, I was walking on the street and 6 women were surrounding me for quiet long time. Three people were in front of me, blocking my path to prevent me from walking quickly, and others were close behind me and then the people nearby suddenly dispersed and I noticed something strange."
Yi Young then checked his bag immediately but it was too late. "The zipper was opened… they had stolen my wallet," he wrote.

He said that the pickpockets suddenly dispersed in threes in different directions.
"So I could only chase one group. I caught up with a group and asked for my wallet back. They started making loud noises, asking me if I was crazy, saying 'we didn't take your wallet,' and getting angry and overacting. It became clearer that they had stolen it. I asked the nearby guard for help to stop them because they had stolen my wallet, but the guard could not provide any help."
The footballer kept chasing the two women and when they reached a place with few people, one of the accomplices purportedly told to another, "Just give his wallet back and let's leave." Yi Young then got his wallet back.
"After checking all the IDs and cards in my wallet, I started taking videos to leave evidence. Unfortunately, I was not able to check my cash inside of my wallet at that time, so some cash is still missing," he further shared.
"Anyway long story short, I'm safe and I got my wallet back but still missing some cash," the athlete underscored.
Furthermore, Yi Young reminded his followers to remain alert and careful.
In the comments section of his post, he also asked his followers not to blame the country as "this could happen anywhere in the world."
