A family in Cebu City is seeking the help of their relatives after the initial donation they received for their 4-year-old boy fell victim to an online scam.

In the report done by GMA Integrated News, a 4-year-old boy lost his life after bumping his head on a concrete and eventually fell on a stream of water.

According to the grandmother of the kid, they did not notice that the kid went outside the house.

"Yun talaga ang hiling ko sa kanya na, 'Anak, tulungan mo si lola sa mga lakad ko para makahanap ng pera pambayad sa kabaong, pamisa.' Sabi ko sa kanya, 'Magpapamisa kami sa iyo, anak,'" the grandmother tearfully said.

However, while in the middle of mourning, the initial P16,000 donation they received fell victim to an online scam after they were asked to provide an OTP.

"May kung ano siyang hiningi, na-scam pa ang pera. Magagamit sana yun na matugnan ang aming problema," the grandmother said.

Meanwhile, a female OFW was recently found dead in her rented room in Malate, Manila.
