Lexter “Boy Dila” Castro, who went viral due to a video showing him dousing a rider during the Wattah Wattah Festival in San Juan City, created a buzz on social media anew.

He became trending once again after he and his team distributed food to numerous delivery riders.

As per Lexter, he decided to give out free food to the riders as part of his apology to those affected by the fake orders placed under his name and address.

“Mag-iikot po ako mamaya para mamigay ng libreng pagkain sa mga delivery riders bilang pag hingi na rin ng paumanhin sa mga naabala ng fake booking dahil sa akin,” Lexter posted on Facebook before handing out the food.

The viral “basaan” participant later shared a series of videos showing him and his team’s kind deed.

It is also worth noting that some riders even recognized Lexter and asked for photos with him.

The “basaan” tradition during Wattah Wattah Festival is part of the celebration of the city’s patron saint, Saint John the Baptist. It is being held every 24th of June.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora presented Lexter “Boy Dila” Castro to the media during a press conference on Tuesday. Castro humbly apologized to Zamora, the public, and the rider he drenched during the Wattah Wattah Festival. The viral "basaan" participant could not help but get emotional while asking for forgiveness. He also urged his detractors to stop dragging his family into his controversy.

Earlier, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora apologized following the chaos during the Wattah Wattah Festival last June 24. In a press conference, Zamora stated that appropriate charges will be filed against the unruly participants of the traditional “basaan.” While the authorities investigate the viral videos and photos from the feast, Zamora also encouraged the victims to personally file a case against those who behaved unruly during the festival.
