- Councilor Elgin Damasco personally went to the area where the alleged bones or skeleton of Jovely Galleno was found

- Those in the area also expressed doubts as to whether it was indeed Jovelyn's skeleton that was uncovered

- Among those who saw the bones attest that there was no flesh whatsoever left on the bones and that the bones were super dry

"Mga kababayan, kagagaling pa lang natin doon sa crime scene kung saan natagpuan ang mga kalansay ni Jovelyn pero yung mga tao nga rito may pagdududa din kung kay Jovelyn yon, dahil yung mga buto-buto nga daw eh walang kalaman-laman."

"Eh sabi nga ni Dr. Panganiban eh kung 18 days lang, kung pinatay noong Aug. 5, eh dapat meron pang laman-laman yon dahil dapat nasa estado pa ng pagkakaagnas, yun talaga, wala na talagang kalaman-laman ano. Tuyung-tuyo yung mga buto na na-recover..."
"Not unless na lumabas yung DNA result, doon natin malalaman kung kay Jovelyn yon..."

Jovelyn Gallano is a 22-year-old employee working in a mall in Palawan. She went missing on August 5. According to her sister, her employer said that Jovelyn already signed out from her work around 6:30 p.m. on that day. She was still able to send a message to her sister but she wasn’t able to go home anymore.

Leobert Dasmariñas, one of the two suspects in the alleged abduction, molestation, and eventual slaying of Jovelyn, denied he took part in molesting of her cousin. He narrated in detail how he and another cousin whom he identified as Jovert Valdestamon, waited for Jovelyn to alight from the multicab she was riding at the time. He then recounted how Jovert, dragged their cousin to a particular location where he did the dastardly act to her.

Recently, the Medico Legal Officer of the Puerto Princesa City Health Department, Dr. Eunice Herrera, said that the skeleton attributed to the missing girl Jovelyn Galleno appeared to be questionable. She indicated it is impossible that within two weeks the remains of a deceased person will immediately become a skeleton. She said the body should still be in a state of decomposition because only 18 days have passed. It can be recalled a skeleton was recovered after Jovelyn's cousin, Leobert, surrendered and pointed to the police the place where they allegedly left the body of the girl.
