"Violence begets violence. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The cycle of hate just continues and wounds deepen. None of it is justifiable."
The father of Chao-Tiao Yumol, the suspect in the Ateneo shooting incident, was shot dead.
Rolando Yumol was gunned down outside his house in Lamitan on Friday morning, July 29.
Dr. Yumol was the lone suspect in the shooting incident in Ateneo where former Lamitan Mayor Furigay died, along with two others, the aide of the former mayor and the campus security guard.
Furigay's daughter was just beside her when the shooting happened, causing some injuries to her.
Recently, Ogie Diaz, in a social media post, lamented the seemingly hero worship that some netizens accorded to Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol. The physician is the one being pointed out as the perpetrator of the shooting incident at the Ateneo de Manila University. The incident left three people dead, including a former municipal mayor in Basilan, and several others injured.
The comedian also took to Twitter and expressed his disdain over some comments about the Ateneo shoot-out suspect. He retweeted another comment made by a netizen who was in disbelief over people who would say, "Stay strong, Doc." On social media, there is a number of people who think highly of the lone suspect.
