Karylle reacts to ‘It’s Showtime’ transfer to GMA’s GTV: “mindblowing”

’It’s Showtime,’ led by Vice Ganda, made headlines after announcing that the show is transferring from TV5 to GMA Network’s GTV starting July 1. The ABS-CBN program declined the offer from TV5 to move their show to the 4:30 p.m. time slot to make way for the original ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts’ new show on the network.

This was after the “Legit Dabarkads” left TAPE Inc. on GMA due to an ongoing conflict and moved to TV5.

One of It’s Showtime’s longtime hosts, Karylle, has aired her thoughts about the big news, in a video interview with ABS-CBN News.

According to Karylle, the transfer from TV5 to GMA’s GTV is mindblowing for her. The singer-host shared that it has always been her dream for Kapamilya stars to work with the Kapuso network. She believes that this type of cooperation from the former rival networks will have a positive effect on the industry.

“Siguro [I'm] mindblown that this is happening. But it's also a big dream of mine na para lumawak ang isipan ng mga tao na the more chance for people to watch a certain show or a certain program. And maybe it will be better for the entire industry as a whole.

"I'm so happy to see that this is how life is moving because it just means more work for the industry," Karylle said.

Vice Ganda is a famous comedian, actor, endorser, and host in the Philippines. He is best known for hosting “It’s Showtime” and for his commercially successful movies in the MMFF. The superstar is currently in a relationship with Ion Perez. He and Ion got their Certificate of Commitment in a special ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada on Oct. 19, 2021.
