OPM singer Dionela has officially tied the knot with his longtime partner Meizy Mendoza in an intimate garden-themed ceremony attended by their closest family members and friends. The wedding took place four months after the singer’s memorable onstage proposal, marking a new chapter in their relationship.

Photos and videos shared by friends and colleagues from the local music scene offered glimpses of the heartfelt celebration. Among those present was Kapamilya host Aiyana Perlas, who also served as the event’s host. She posted a lighthearted photo with the couple and wrote:

Concert directors Paolo Valenciano and Nico Faustino were also in attendance, along with Paolo’s wife Samantha Godinez Valenciano. Fellow artists Ena Mori and Japs Mendoza of OPM band The Juans joined the celebration as well.

Dionela shared his own perspective of the ceremony, posting a moment before Meizy walked down the aisle.

“Wait lang sa new music mga idol, ikakasal lang kami saglit brb (be right back),” he wrote.

The reception also featured fun moments, including an appearance by content creator Ian Mark Kamangkang. Paolo shared a selfie with him and wrote:

“Wait super fan boy moment 🥹 I love pitik queen so much!!!! Minsan lang ako ma star struck and tonight, I was quite struckT. Oh btw , congrats Tim and meizy 🤣🤣🤣,” Paolo said.

Dionela proposed during his concert at the New Frontier Theater.

“Sinamahan mo ’ko mula umpisa, hanggang sa dulo mahal,” he told her.

In a previous post, Dionela credited Meizy for inspiring his music.

Dionela is a Filipino singer-songwriter known for blending R&B and pop in his music. He started gaining attention in 2022 after signing with UMG Philippines and releasing early singles “153” and “Musika.” In June 2024, he dropped “Sining” featuring Jay R, which reached number one on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100. Later that year, his single “Marilag” further strengthened his standing as one of the rising names in OPM.

In separate news, Dionela proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Meizy Joaquin Mendoza, during the opening night of his The Grace World Tour at the New Frontier Theater. Before the proposal, the couple shared a touching moment onstage by performing the chorus of “Bahaghari,” a song Dionela wrote especially for her. According to a video shared by Inquirer.net, the singer went down on one knee and asked Meizy to marry him. She happily accepted, drawing loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Dionela reacted after his name became linked to a viral Facebook post involving alleged infidelity. Abigail Sobreo shared how her seven-year relationship ended after her partner reportedly cheated with a fellow teacher. The situation gained attention when screenshots mentioned the woman being called “Marilag,” which is also the title of Dionela’s popular song. The singer clarified that his track had no connection to the controversy. He admitted, however, that he still felt the impact of being dragged into the issue.
