During her Kapuso ArtisTambayan appearance, the actress recalled receiving a supportive message from the content creator. Ivana apparently thought that Ashley was preparing to compete for an actual crown.
“Good luck babe,” she recalled Ivana telling her.
Ashley then explained that the pageant was for a movie. That clarification led to another question, this time about the ₱25-million prize associated with the competition.

The caption accompanying the interview clip highlighted Ivana’s response, as recounted by the actress: “Hindi totoo ’yung 25 million?!”
The exchange was one example of how the film’s promotion convinced people that its stars were entering a genuine pageant. Ashley said several friends had also contacted her to ask about her participation and wish her luck.
She explained that creating that impression was part of the initial marketing plan. Before revealing the movie, the campaign presented the competition in a way that made audiences believe the candidates would compete in a real event.
That competition was called Queen of the Islands. GMA Pictures confirmed on August 28 that it was fictional and formed part of the promotional campaign for Red Crown, a satirical comedy about the world of pageantry.
The rollout included candidate posters, pasarela videos, behind-the-scenes clips, and a supposed ₱25-million cash prize. These materials prompted pageant followers to choose their favorites and discuss the competition before the movie reveal.
