Kim Chiu shared an emotional thank-you message after “A Perfect Marriage,” her film with Paulo Avelino, secured a spot in the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival.

In her post on X, the actress recalled the nerves she felt while waiting for the announcement. She said the moment became especially emotional when Laurice Guillen announced the family drama category.
“Yung kaba ko, GRABE!!! Naiyak talaga ako nung in-announce ni Ms. Laurice Guillen ang family drama category!” she wrote.
The movie was among the final four titles announced to complete this year’s eight official entries. Directed by Dan Villegas, it brings Kim and Paulo together for a Christmas Day cinema release.

For Kim, the selection was a reason to thank the people who gave her the opportunity to be part of the project. Her message acknowledged both the team behind the movie and the supporters who had been hoping for its inclusion.
“My heart is so full of gratitude!” she shared before thanking MMFF 2026, Quantum Films, and Atty. Joji Alonso for the “beautiful opportunity.”
She also tagged Dan in the post, which focused on her appreciation for the project and the people involved.
The actress described the news as a meaningful gift ahead of the holiday season. She thanked those who had shown her trust and love as she celebrated the film’s place in the festival.

Kim also made sure to acknowledge the KimPau supporters who prayed for the movie. Addressing them directly, she thanked them for their support and marked the announcement as the beginning of the film’s journey toward its theatrical release.
