"Ang hirap umalis": Jhong Hilario, nadurog ang puso sa pag-iyak ng anak na si Sarina

Leaving home for work is never easy for a dedicated parent, and Jhong Hilario felt that heartbreak firsthand as his daughter, Sarina, broke down in tears before his departure.

Taking to his Instagram page @jhonghilario, the It's Showtime host and dancer uploaded a moving four-part carousel capturing his bittersweet goodbye with his young daughter.

In the first clip, Sarina can be seen crying uncontrollably at the table while Jhong tenderly held her hands, stroked her hair, and gently kissed her head to comfort her. Despite his soothing words, the little girl buried her face in her hands, clearly heartbroken over having to spend days away from her dad due to his work.

In his caption, the actor and TV host poured out the pain of walking out the door under those circumstances:

"Ang hirap umalis ng ganito... 😭 Work lang si daddy ng ilang araw mahal ko... I love you so much! 💖💖💖"

Adding to the emotional post, Jhong showed a video of a folded note given to him by Sarina before he left.

"HI DADDY I WILL MISS YOU" the letter read and inside the note were simple stick-figure drawings showing someone standing by a door, illustrating just how much she was dreading his absence.

The final slide showed that distance did little to immediately soothe the separation. Jhong shared a screenshot of their FaceTime call, where Sarina was still sobbing and dabbing her tears away.

Jhong Hilario is a well-known actor, dancer, TV host, and politician. He rose to fame as a member of the popular dance group Streetboys before pursuing a career in acting. He became known for his antagonistic roles, including Gary David in the remake of Mara Clara and Homer “Alakdan” Adlawan in FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. He is also a regular host of ABS-CBN’s noontime variety show It's Showtime. Meanwhile, in his personal life, he is married to Maia Azores, and they have a daughter named Sarina Oceanía Hilario.

As previously reported by KAMI in 2025, Jhong Hilario and his wife, Maia Azores, appeared to have been worried about their daughter, Sarina. Jhong and Maia recently flew to Japan with their daughter, and while they were at Tokyo Disneyland, Sarina seemingly went missing for more than 10 minutes in the park. In their caption, they shared that Maia even ended up crying.

Meanwhile, in the same year, Sarina Hilario, the daughter of Jhong Hilario and Maia Azores, warmed the hearts of many netizens after a video showing highlights from her moving-up ceremony was uploaded to her social media page. During the ceremony, the celebrity child received several awards. Her loved ones were also present to witness the heartwarming occasion.
