According to Doug, 'everyone is subject to temptation' because it is the 'devil's job to get you.'

"The real strength isn't pretending temptation doesn't exist, or that you've never been tempted; it's looking it in the eye, turning your back on it, and choosing your wife and kids every single time! Loyalty is an active, deliberate choice you make every single day," he said.

Doug directly answered a Reddit comment mocking his perspective on faithfulness as well.

"I absolutely don't care about praise from anyone, nor am I seeking validation from others opinions. I only care about loving and taking care of my wife, my kids, and being accountable to the Lord," Doug stated firmly.

He also pushed back against various negative labels thrown at him by internet critics:

"'Narcissist.' 'Controlling.' 'Selfish.' I've heard them all. I'll be the first to say I'm not perfect; I have so many flaws. That is why I need Jesus Christ in my life as an example of how to live a Christ-filled life. Btw, you're referring to a family man who has been happily married for 18 years this year. 23 years loyal and faithful to Cheska. We have 3 beautiful, loving, hardworking, God-fearing children, yet you guys still choose to make up something negative?"

Doug also highlighted the crucial role parents play in modeling integrity, loyalty, and grace within the home.

Before closing his statement, Doug urged people to take personal responsibility for their choices in life, relationships, and speech.

"Lying is a choice. Getting angry is a choice. Being mean and disrespectful is a choice. Cheating is a choice. Breaking a family apart is a choice too! Just as... Honesty is a choice. Being kind is a choice. Showing grace and respect is a choice. Staying faithful and loyal to your family is a choice, too! So which one will you choose? That decision is up to us every single day," Doug concluded.
