When asked about heartbreak, the singer gave a heartfelt response.

“Para sa akin, worst heartbreak is yung splitting up with your best friend,” he admitted.

He added that outgrowing people can be one of life’s most difficult emotional experiences.

Maki is a rising Filipino singer-songwriter known for his soulful R&B and alternative pop sound. He skyrocketed to mainstream fame with hit singles like "Saan?" and the chart-topping 2024 anthem "Dilaw." His music is celebrated for its emotional vulnerability and "soft boy" aesthetic, resonating deeply with a younger generation of OPM fans. As a Tarsier Records artist, he continues to dominate digital charts and sell out solo concerts across the Philippines.

In another report, Maki shared that growing up as one of 17 siblings prevented him from fully enjoying his childhood. He started taking singing seriously at 13 but struggled with confidence, especially when performing in front of large crowds, according to ABS-CBN. As an introvert, he turned to games and the arts as outlets during his younger years. Eventually, the encouragement from his parents and siblings helped him pursue a music career despite the early hurdles.
