Alden highlighted that the film aims to celebrate Filipino identity through both narrative and visuals.

“It's our love letter to the Filipinos na sometimes we want to highlight the beauty of the Philippines alongside telling a really great love story, so abangan niyo po 'yan,” he shared.

The movie follows Jao, played by Alden, and Kara, portrayed by Nadine, as two individuals with opposing beliefs who eventually cross paths and navigate the realities of modern romance.

Before filming begins, Alden plans to spend Holy Week reconnecting with his family and reflecting after a busy start to the year.

“Since na-busy tayo during the first quarter of the year, wala akong masyadong time with them and reflect,” he said.
“Of course, since lumaki naman ako na Holy Week talaga is time for reflection and repentance, and we offer it to Lord Jesus Christ,” he added.

“Love, Siargao” also incorporates the island’s well-known “Siargao Curse,” a belief that visitors either never leave or unexpectedly fall in love. The film is produced through a collaboration between Viu Philippines, Viva Communications Inc., and GMA Network Inc., and is set to premiere on Viu later this 2026.
