Actor and television host Alden Richards was recognized as the Most Valuable Taxpayer for 2025 during the 2026 Tax Campaign Kick-Off Event of the Bureau of Internal Revenue. The event took place at the Jose Rizal Coliseum, where government officials and invited guests gathered to launch the agency’s annual tax campaign.

In a speech shared by Sparkle, Alden expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
"I'm deeply humbled and grateful po to be recognized as one of your most valuable taxpayers of 2025," he said.

He emphasized that the award goes beyond personal achievement and reflects a shared responsibility among citizens.

"This award is not just a personal achievement but actually a reminder po of our shared responsibility bilang mamamayan ng ating bansa," he added.
The actor also highlighted the broader purpose of paying taxes.
"Naniniwala po ako na paying the right taxes is more than just a legal obligation. It is a commitment to nation-building," he stated.
Acknowledging his role in the public eye, Alden spoke about the influence that comes with his profession.
"As a public figure, I understand that influence comes with responsibility," he said.
He expressed hope that his recognition would inspire others.
"I hope through this recognition more individuals, especially those in the private sector and in the entertainment industry, will be encouraged to fulfill their tax obligations faithfully and transparently," he noted.
He underscored pride in responsible citizenship.
"Being a responsible taxpayer is something we should all take pride in," he said.
He followed this with a clear message:
"Dapat po nating ipagmalaki ang pagiging taxpayer."
Before ending his speech, Alden reminded everyone,
"Paalala ko lamang po, magbayad tayo po nang tamang buwis; at higit sa lahat, magbayad tayo sa tamang oras."

The actor also revealed that playing a villain has been a longtime dream after years of portraying leading men. In Big Tiger, he finally steps into antagonist territory, calling the experience both emotionally and physically demanding, especially with intense stunt sequences. He explained that villain roles provide greater creative flexibility and allow more unpredictable character decisions. The film serves as Myriad Entertainment’s first international venture and is currently scheduled for global release in 2026.
