Kapamilya comedian and actress Rufa Mae Quinto shared in a recent interview that she can still sense the presence of her late husband, Trevor Magallanes. Trevor passed away in July 2025 due to an illness, and Rufa has publicly denied rumors about the cause of his death on social media.

During the interview with Kapamilya broadcaster Karen Davila, Rufa reflected on the lessons she learned after losing her husband.

“Oo kaya nakukuha kong tumawa eh kasi nga hindi heavy dahil alam kong binigay namin lahat. At thank God nagawa namin yun ng mabilis,” she expressed, highlighting how she finds moments of light despite the grief.

The actress also stressed the value of cherishing loved ones while they are still around.

“Kaya sabi ko nga pag may mahal kayo, nako wag na kayo umakting, kahit hindi kayo mahal sabihin niyo na I love you,” Rufa said.
“Anytime pala pwedeng mawala kahit sinong tao tapos uuwi ka sa bahay niyo bukas iba na.”

Rufa admitted that although she can smile and bring joy to others, the pain of longing for Trevor remains.

She became emotional while sharing how they had envisioned their future together and planned everything for their daughter.

“Alam mo sinabi ko sa sarili ko, basta bibigyan ko ng time yung anak ko, I’ll be kind to her, guide her, basta love,” she said.

The comedian also revealed that she feels Trevor still guides her.

“At the same time, sabi ko tulungan mo nalang kami. Kahit na physically wala, basta tulungan mo ako paano ko siya palalakihin. Tinutulungan niya ako, nararamdaman ko naman kasi nagiging magaan naman lahat,” Rufa explained.

Looking ahead, Rufa confirmed she will raise their daughter, Athena, in the Philippines so that she grows up connected to her roots and the life she shared with her parents.

She began her career in 1996 through the youth-oriented show That’s Entertainment and went on to star in numerous hit films and television projects. In 2016, she married Trevor Magallanes, and a year later they welcomed their daughter, Athena, who has since become the center of her world.
