“Dati akala ko, malakas na ang loob ko, akala ko makapal ang mukha ko—pero nung nakita ko ang pictures nila Pokwang at Pinky Amador sa paparty ni Bongbong Marcos, Isa pala akong Mahiyain. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!”
Yap wrote in a Facebook post.
He also reflected on the inconsistencies he observed in the entertainment industry. He mentioned one celebrity who criticized Ella Cruz for supporting Marcos, and another who acted as if they were morally righteous while publicly condemning others for alleged corruption and human rights violations, yet attended the same event.

“Walang masama kung nagbago na ang kanilang paniniwala, or baka wala silang hapunan ng gabing iyon. Ang masama ay yung sakit ng salita, panlilibak at panghuhusga nila sa kapwa nung panahon ng kampanya, hindi na mababawi iyon,” he said.
He emphasized that past judgments during the election campaign cannot be undone.
Yap ended his post with a nod of respect to his fellow actress:
“Kaya, may respeto na ko ulit kay Cherry Pie.”
The post sparked conversations online about celebrity participation in political events and the balance between personal beliefs and professional respect. Yap’s candid remarks highlight both humor and critique of perceived double standards in the entertainment world.

In separate news, Filipino director Darryl Yap criticized the Department of Trade and Industry’s claim that ₱500 is enough for a Noche Buena meal. He shared an alleged 1993 SM Delgado receipt showing a full holiday grocery list—including ham, queso de bola, pasta, hotdogs, and desserts—totaling ₱500. Yap’s post highlights how far that budget went decades ago, contrasting sharply with today’s prices. His reaction has fueled public and celebrity skepticism over the government’s suggested holiday allowance, sparking discussions on the practicality of the proposed budget amid rising inflation and the high cost of essential festive goods.
Meanwhile, Filipino director Lav Diaz suggested that comedian Vice Ganda could be a strong contender against Vice President Sara Duterte in the 2028 elections, saying he is serious about the idea. Diaz believes Vice Ganda’s influence in pop culture provides a unique perspective for the country. Director Darryl Yap reacted on Facebook, jokingly nominating BB Gandanghari for president and Cristy Fermin as palace spokesperson. The comments online were mixed, with some supporting the notion and others criticizing it, while Vice Ganda has remained silent on the topic.
