In a recent podcast crossover that has touched many listeners, Dani Barretto opened up about her deep love and protective nature toward her mother, Marjorie Barretto. During a joint episode of The Bare It All Podcast and Lecheng Pag-Ibig 'To, Dani didn't hold back as she discussed the challenges her mother faces in the public eye.

"I really wish she fights for herself more," Dani told hosts Sam YG and DJ Chacha, her voice filled with emotion. "Because she tends to really — she wants to just stay quiet. She chooses to always stay quiet and just not fight back," she added.

The conversation turned toward the public’s view of Marjorie, which Dani feels is often clouded by unfair rumors. Sam YG noted how "selfless" Marjorie seems to be, a sentiment Dani quickly agreed with.

"I really wish though that people know kung ano talaga yung mom ko," Dani shared. "Because of the chismis and because of other people, they don’t know how great she is," she shared.

Dani explained that while Marjorie believes "the truth" is enough and feels she has nothing to prove, it remains difficult for her children to watch.

"Syempre protective kami na, 'But you're not like that. Hindi ikaw yan eh,'" Dani added, highlighting the strong bond the Barretto siblings share with their mother.
