Alongside his post, he shared a screenshot of the viral claim, highlighting that the words were falsely attributed to him.
This is not the first time public figures in the Philippines have faced misinformation circulating online. Social media users frequently share posts without verifying their authenticity, which can sometimes mislead fans and followers into believing fabricated statements.
Dantes’ denial emphasizes the importance of checking sources before spreading political endorsements or opinions on social media. By directly addressing the false attribution, he set the record straight and reminded the public to remain cautious amid election season discourse.
Fans and netizens have since reacted to Dantes’ clarification, with many praising him for promptly addressing the misinformation. The incident highlights the ongoing challenge celebrities face in maintaining accurate representation of their public statements.
As the national conversation heats up around potential candidates, Dantes’ statement serves as a reminder that not everything circulating online reflects the truth, even when it appears on familiar accounts or involves well-known personalities.
